MONEY MONEY MONEY!

In maths this morning we counted money. Miss Edwards had a problem counting the money she had collected for our trip to Rainbows End so we helped her out. First we counted all the twenty dollar notes and then the $5 notes.

We now know that there are 2 tens in a $20 and so $40 there are 4 tens.

In a twenty dollar note there are 20 ones.

To make $100 you only need 5 $20 notes!

We had to count up in 10s, 20s and 5s.

We got to count coins and notes and cheques too!

It was fun because it was real money and we were learning some times tables too.

How fabulous - great idea to use a real life problem to learn about numbers and money. I hope you managed to help Miss Edwards out and sorted the money correctly.
I am very jealous you are going to Rainbows End - how cool is that???
Have a brilliant trip!
