Holiday Homework

Holiday Reading Challenge

Over the holidays you must read!

Record what you read into your reading log. The people with substantial reading log entries will receive a chocolate surprise!

So get reading.

Mufti Day is on Wednesday!

Bring a gold coin donation to school and you get to wear your own clothes for the day.

Homework is given every week. It is about reinforcing concepts taught in class and aims not to cause stress at home as often it can.

As well as nightly homework, occasionally there will be an extra task that is based upon something that has popped up during the day.

Below is an outline of what is expected throughout the week.

MONDAY

Chunks- children are to find as many words as they can that contain the new chunk that has been explored in class.

TUESDAY

second chance for children to add to their list of chunk words.

Read for a least 15 minutes and record this into their reading log notebook

Spelling practice spelling of the new list words

WEDNESDAY

read for at least 15 minutes and record this into their reading log

Spellling practice

THURSDAY

Read for at least 15 minutes and record this into their reading logs

Spelling practice before the test tomorrow
